You are invited to attend our annual Hesburgh Lecture on Thursday, 10/23 at 7pm at St. Joseph’s University in the Haub Executive Center (located in McShain Hall). The ND Club of Philadelphia is pleased to feature: Professor Alexander J. Hahn, ’69 M.S., ’70 Ph.D., presenting his lecture “Truth in Numbers: From Notre Dame Football to The Da Vinci Code.” Professor Hahn is a Mathematics Professor and Director of the Honors Program for the College of Science at the University of Notre Dame.
Join ND alumni at a lecture by John T. McGreevy, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Mandeville Hall at Saint Joseph's University. Dr. McGreevy will speak on “Burchard Villiger, S.J., the Restored Jesuits and Global Catholicism in the Modern Age.” The lecture will be followed by a reception. ND Law, the Alliance for Catholic Education and the Archdiocese's Office for the New Evangelization are sponsoring a book discussion on September 18, 2014 at the Neumann Center at the University of Pennsylvania. This discussion, entitled "A Crisis of Community: Catholic School Closures and Urban Neighborhoods" will focus on the role of Catholic education in our inner cities and how the loss of schools has a dramatic impact on the community.
